On August 22, 2024, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced a bumper 2025 home season for their teams. The England men’s team will square off against Zimbabwe, West Indies, India, and South Africa, while the women’s team will take on West Indies and India.
England men will play 18 international matches, 6 games across each format at home. While England women will participate in 14 international matches, with 8 T20Is and 6 ODIs.
The 2025 home summer season will get underway on May 21, 2025. England women will kick off the proceedings with a limited-overs series against the West Indies women.
The series starts with T20Is, with Canterbury (May 21), Hove (May 23), and Chelmsford (May 26) hosting the 3 games. 3 ODIs will follow soon, with Derby (May 30), Leicester (Jun 4), and Taunton (Jun 7) staging the matches.
Meanwhile, the men’s team will start their season by playing a 4-day Test match against Zimbabwe starting on May 22. This will be the first Test between these 2 teams since 2003.
Right after that, England men will face the West Indies in 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. The ODIs will take place in Birmingham (May 29), Cardiff (Jun 1), and The Oval (Jun 3). The T20Is will be played in Durham (Jun 6), Bristol (Jun 8), and Southampton (Jun 10).
After a 10-day break, the attention will shift towards the 5-match Test series against India. Leeds will open the series starting on June 20, followed by Birmingham (Jul 2-6), Lord’s (Jul 10-14), Manchester (Jul 23-27), and The Oval (July 31-Aug 4).
At the same time, England women will engage in a limited-overs series against India women. First up will be 5 T20Is, with Nottingham (Jun 28), Bristol (Jul 1), The Oval (Jul 4), Manchester (Jul 9), and Edgbaston (Jul 12) hosting the games.
After that, 3 ODIs will take place in Southampton (Jul 16), Lord’s (Jul 19), and Durham (Jul 22). That will mark the end of the 2025 summer season for the England women’s team.
But the actions will resume for the men’s team after the 2025 Hundred season. South Africa will arrive for 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is.
The ODI series will begin in Leeds on September 2, followed by the next 2 games in Lord’s (Sept 4) and Southampton (Sept 7), respectively. Cardiff (Sept 10), Manchester (Sept 12), and Nottingham (Sept 14) will host the T20I games.
