The WPL 2025 auction was a rather quick affair, getting wrapped up in about two hours on December 15, 2024. Only 19 slots were up for grabs, and teams didn’t waste too much time to fill those slots.
Even though it was a short event, a few players prompted teams to engage in bidding wars. Simran Shaikh fetched a massive deal of INR 1.90 crore from Gujarat Giants (GG) to become the expensive buy of this auction.
Deandra Dottin, who is back in form, returned to GG for INR 1.70 crore. She was the only overseas player to get a 1 crore+ bid in the WPL 2025 auction.
G Kamilini (1.60 crore) and Prema Rawat (1.20 crore) were the other two players to earn 1 crore+ deals, as Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) snapped them.
Now, all five WPL teams have 18 players each, including six foreigners in their squad, looking pretty much ready to start the new season.

Delhi Capitals (DC)
DC added a bit of firepower to their batting by signing keeper-batters Nandini Kashyap and Scotland’s Sarah Bryce. They have further strengthened their all-rounder department by adding India’s U-19 captain Niki Prasad (10 lakh) and Andhra’s Shree Charani (55 lakh).

Gujarat Giants (GG)
The Giants tried to make the most of their auction purse by raising the two highest bids of this auction. They bought two power hitters, Deandra Dottin and Simran Shaikh, to solidify their batting.
They have also picked up two bowlers, Prakashikha Naik and England’s Danielle Gibson, on their base prices.

Mumbai Indians (MI)
Mumbai added three all-rounders to their already powerful squad, snapping Nadine de Klerk, Akshita Maheshwari, and Sanskriti Gupta for their base prices.
They went big after a promising Tamil Nadu batter, splurging INR 1.60 crore on the 16-year-old G Kamilini.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)
Reigning champions RCB were focused on filling their local slots. They shelled out INR 1.20 crore for Prema Rawat, who bowls leg spin. RCB added another three uncapped Indians.

UP Warriorz (UPW)
UP Warriorz just had to fill in three slots. They bought Arushi Goel, giving them an additional option in their batting department.
UPW acquired the services of Australia’s leg spinner Alana King late in the accelerated round, while they picked up Kranti Goud for her base price.
