When does the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 begin?
The 50-over tournament gets underway on December 21, 2024, with the first round games. There are seven rounds in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, involving 126 group-stage matches.
The knockout stage will see nine games starting on January 9, 2025, with the final taking place on January 18. Vadodara will play host to the nine-match knockout round. All matches will start at 9:00 AM IST.
How many teams will play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25?
A total of 38 state association teams split across five groups make up the tournament. Every team has a chance to taste the glory while reigning champions Haryana will look to defend the title.

What are the venues?
Eight cities across India will host the 135 matches of the tournament. The group stage matches will take place across several venues in Ahmedabad (Group C), Hyderabad (Group E), Jaipur (Group A), Mumbai, Navi Mumbai (both Group B), Visakhapatnam, and Vizianagaram (both Group D).
After the group stage, the action will shift to Vadodara for the knockout stage, which has nine matches.
What’s the format of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25?
The List A competition follows a single round-robin format, with teams pitted against their group members once. After the group stage concludes on January 5, the table toppers and the second-placed teams from each group will head into the knockouts.
The top teams directly seal their spot into the quarter-finals, while the best team among the No. 2 sides also joins them. The other four teams will have to then make another effort in the preliminary quarter-finals to enter the quarter-finals.
After that, four quarter-finals will help decide the semi-finalists, with the winners heading into the final on December 18.
