The Indian cricket team is perhaps a powerhouse in T20I cricket. And it’s the players who have made India a force in the shortest format.
Year after year, we have seen Indian players putting in remarkable performances in bilateral and multi-nation tournaments. A few of them went a notch higher, delivering consistent performances throughout a specific year to win the T20I Cricketer of the Year award.
In this article, we’ll look at the Indian players who have won the ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year award.
1. Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav was a little late to international cricket as he made his T20I debut at the age of 30 years. He broke into India’s squad thanks to his stellar performances in the IPL.
And as he stepped into the blue jersey in 2021, he carried his form at the biggest stage. Surya went on to dominate with his 360-degree batting onslaught in the next two years.
The right-hander won the ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year award in consecutive years in 2022 and 2023. He slammed a staggering 1134 runs in 31 T20Is at a strike rate of 187.43 in 2022 and followed it with 733 runs in 17 innings the next year.

2. Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep Singh joined Suryakumar on the list in 2024. Since his debut in 2022, the left-arm pacer has seen his stocks rise in T20Is.
He has come along well, showing his consistency in the first three years of his T20I career for India. Singh first impressed in the IPL before rising through the ranks in the Indian squad.
He started his career with 33 wickets in 2022 and 26 in 2023 before returning with 36 scalps in 2024. And it was his wicket-taking ability that helped India win the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Singh finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker in the title-winning campaign, picking up 17 scalps in eight matches. His remarkable performance that year saw him clinch the T20I Cricketer of the Year award.
