
The Asia Cup 2025 is about to begin on September 9. The UAE will see eight teams battle it out in the T20I format to become the Asian champions.
So, which teams are participating in the Asia Cup 2025?
The five usual Asian heavyweights and three emerging associates will feature in the tournament.

How did the teams qualify?
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka were automatic lock-ins for the tournament. The other three teams made it through the 2024 ACC Premier Cup. They qualified after sealing the top three spots in the 10-team tournament.
Are all teams playing each other?
Nope. The eight teams have been put into two groups of four each.
Group A features rivals India and Pakistan, along with the two Middle East neighbours – Oman and the UAE. Group B clubs Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong together.

Alright, what’s the format of the Asia Cup 2025?
With two groups in place, teams will first play among their group members once. Each team will play three games in the group stage, which runs from September 9 to 19. The teams will aim for the top two finishes in their groups to further proceed into the Super Four stage.
What happens in the Super Four round?
The Super Four round will see four teams in action. These teams will meet each other once between September 20 and 26.
After six matches in the Super Four, the top two teams will book their slots in the final. The two finalists will play the title clash on September 28 in Dubai.
