Women’s cricket is spreading its wings in the franchise circuit. And the West Indies are trying to play a part in it.
Their men’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is already big. Now the women’s version is following in its footsteps.
Four teams compete against each other to become the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) winners.
On that note, here’s a look at the winners of the WCPL in every season.

2022 | Trinbago Knight Riders
The inaugural WCPL season was rather short. It had three league stage games; one was washed out, followed by the final.
Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) squared off against Barbados Royals in the final. The Royals asked the Knight Riders to bat first.
Deandra Dottin played a captain’s knock, scoring 59 off 62 balls. It helped TKR put up 100 for 7.
The Royals captain, Hayley Matthews, responded to Dottin’s knock with 46 off 49. But her lone fight wasn’t enough as the Royals folded for 90 runs, meaning TKR became the inaugural WCPL champions.
2023 | Barbados Royals
The Royals made it to their second consecutive WCPL final. This time, they were up against Guyana Amazon Warriors.
Captain Matthews turned up once again for the Royals. She scored 82 off 59 balls. Rashada Williams (36 off 23) and Gaby Lewis (21 off 18) played valuable knocks to take the Royals to 169 for 7.
The Warriors were steady in the chase, being 141 for 3 in 17.4 overs. But then they lost the plot, losing four wickets within seven balls.
As a result, they managed to score 161 for 8, handing the Royals their maiden WCPL trophy.
2024 | Barbados Royals
The Royals stormed into the final for the third consecutive time, setting up a rematch of the 2022 summit clash against TKR.
The Royals put TKR in to bat first and restricted them to 93 for 8. Chamari Athapaththu played a sensible knock to help the Royals finish the chase in 15 overs.
2025 | Barbados Royals
Winning two trophies wasn’t enough, so the Royals went after their third title. They won the toss and asked the Warriors to bat first.
The Warriors put up a decent 136 for 3 on the board. The target wasn’t big, but the Royals struggled in the chase.
At 110 for 7, it seemed like the trophy slipped from their hands. But crucial cameos from Aaliyah Alleyne (17* for 9) and Shreyanka Patil (10* for 6) saw the Royals through the chase.
2026 | Guyana Amazon Warriors
The WCPL had its first final without the Royals (now Barbados Tridents) in 2026. The Knight Riders and Warriors qualified for their third final.
After electing to bat first, the Riders put up 145 for 6 on the scoreboard. It proved to be a challenging total, as the Warriors struggled right from the start in the chase.
The Warriors were 71 for 6. But then captain Chloe Tryon (32 off 18) and Chedean Nation (39* off 21) brought them back into the game before sealing their maiden WCPL title.
