A brand new season of the Abu Dhabi T10 League is set to take place in November-December 2024. The eighth edition of the T10 league will run from November 21 to December 2 at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.
The opening day will see three matches, with Team Abu Dhabi and Ajman Bolts raising the curtains. There will be 40 matches in total, including the playoffs, over a span of 12 days.
In an interesting development, the Abu Dhabi T10 2024 has expanded, adding two new teams to the roster. So the number has now increased to 10, with Ajman Bolts and UP Nawabs joining Bangla Tigers, Chennai Brave Jaguars, Deccan Gladiators, Delhi Bulls, Morrisville Samp Army, New York Strikers, Northern Warriors, and Team Abu Dhabi.
The Abu Dhabi T10 2024 League, though, will partially clash with the inaugural Global Super League taking place in Guyana between November 26 and December 7.
Abu Dhabi T10 2024: Format
With the addition of two new teams, the Abu Dhabi T10 has tweaked the format a bit, especially the playoff format.
The league stage will proceed as usual, with each team playing against seven opponents. That means teams will play seven matches each.
As for the playoffs, the top five teams will advance to the knockouts. The league has introduced an additional Eliminator match in the playoffs.
The No. 1 and No. 2 placed teams will fight for a direct spot in the final, playing in Qualifier 1. The fourth and fifth-placed teams will face off in Eliminator 1 to move into Eliminator 2, scheduled against the No. 3 team.
Qualifier 2 will follow to decide the other finalist as the winner of Eliminator 2 takes on the loser of Qualifier 1. The final will then pit the two Qualifier winners against each other.
