Babar Azam T20I Centuries List

Babar Azam is one of the finest batters Pakistan has produced in its cricketing history. The top-order batter has mesmerised the cricketing fraternity with his elegant strokeplay, especially in white-ball cricket.

Azam made his T20I debut in 2016 and he has been a mainstay of the Pakistani batting lineup since then. Over the years, the right-hander has shown his hunger for scoring big knocks, etching some wonderful hundreds.

Here we’ll look at the list of Babar Azam’s T20I centuries.

1. 122 (59) vs South Africa | Centurion, 2021

Babar Azam scored his maiden T20I century against South Africa in April 2021. His blistering knock came in a successful run chase of 204 runs.

The Pakistani skipper opened the innings with Mohammad Rizwan and stitched an opening stand of 197 runs. Azam made his intentions clear early on in the innings, smashing a couple of boundaries to get off the mark,

He reached his half-century in 27 balls and further accelerated his knock to raise his first T20I hundred off 50 balls. Azam fell for a well-made 122 but he made sure the team cruised to the target with breeze in 18 overs.

2. 110* (66) vs England | Karachi, 2022

A year and a half later, Babar Azam played yet another knock in a successful run chase. With a 200-run target set by England, Azam and Rizwan didn’t give a chance to the visitors to defend their total.

In the first half, the right-hander found occasional boundaries, while Rizwan took on the charge. Babar completed his fifty in 39 balls and then upped the ante by milking fours and sixes.

He brought up his second T20I century off 62 deliveries and remained unbeaten on 110, helping Pakistan gun down the target with 3 balls to spare.

3. 101* (58) vs New Zealand | Lahore, 2023

Unlike Babar’s first 2 centuries, this one came while batting first. This knock unfolded in the second T20I match against New Zealand in April 2023.

After electing to bat first, the opening duo of Babar and Rizwan worked their magic again by building a 99-run stand. Babar was in his usual, building a steady knock and completing his fifty off 36 balls.

In the meantime, Pakistan lost 4 wickets, pushing them on the back foot. But the Pakistani skipper didn’t budge and raced away to his third century off 58 balls.

Babar’s unbeaten 101 knock helped Pakistan post 192 runs on the board, which they defended by 38 runs.
