IPL 2026 got off to a banger of a start. Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first and put together 201 for 9. The home side, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, wasted no time and killed the chase within 16 overs.
The highlight of the opening night was the excellent batting from both sides. First SRH’s stand-in skipper Ishan Kishan continued his form, with Aniket Verma providing the late touches.
Then everyone witnessed the chase master in action, once again. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal decided SRH’s fate in the first 10 overs.
And one can’t forget the immediate impact of Jacob Duffy’s new ball spell. His early jolts kept SRH around 200.
