Rishabh Pant’s 5 Trademark Shots: Simply Audacious!

Rishabh Pant is one batter who keeps everyone on the edge of their seats when he bats. His teammates, the opponents, and of course, the fans are all in the same boat!

While he goes about his business, his audacious strokeplay makes every match box office. And Pant doesn’t believe in the textbook shots. He has his own out-of-the-world shots.

In this piece, we’ll list five of Rishabh Pant’s trademark shots in cricket.

One-Handed Slog

It’s like a staple for Pant. While it’s not intentional, his bottom hand comes off once his bat makes contact with the ball.

The result? The ball travels straight down the ground, either on the long-on or long-off boundary.

You’ll often see Pant step out and dish out a one-handed slog against spinners. Just ask Nathan Lyon or Jack Leach! And pacers aren’t spared either.

Reverse Scoop

No one can describe Pant’s reverse scoop better than James Anderson. The keeper-batter left the veteran England seamer amazed with one of his scoops in 2021.

Pant reverse-scooped an outside the off delivery towards the third man for a four. It was a smooth shot.

Falling Sweep

Oh, the shot only Pant can play! His falling sweeps are fan favourites. This is his other way of dealing with outside the off deliveries.

Pant bends his left leg and falls on it to send the ball flying over the fine leg or the leg side. Even though his balance shifts, he hardly misses sending the ball to its desired destination.

Flick Shot

Another shot, Pant is a master at. His flick shot is slightly different from others.

He whacks the leg stump delivery with his flawless wrist work. And the bowl goes over the square leg or mid-wicket.

The flick shot is Pant’s lethal weapon against pacers. You bowl him on middle and leg with some speed and watch him flick it with pure timing.

Pull Shot

Pant loves playing pull shots. And he likes it so much that he has multiple variations up his sleeve.

He can even play a reverse pull shot! A reverse pull shot! Talk about the audacity. A few can barely execute the normal pull shot.

You bowl him short, and he pulls the ball on the leg side, sometimes behind the square and sometimes in front of it.
