After the men’s Border-Gavaskar Trophy concludes, the focus will shift towards the Women’s Ashes 2025. Australia women will host their arch-rivals England women for an all-format series in January-February 2025.
This will be the 26th edition of the Women’s Ashes, which has been a regular affair since 1934/35. As usual, both sides will engage in three ODIs, as many T20Is, and a one-off Test.
Before the main series starts, England women will play in a warm-up game against Governor-General XI on January 9. The series will then get underway on January 12 with the first ODI match in North Sydney.
Melbourne will host the second game on January 14, while Hobart will stage the third ODI on January 17. Following that, the T20I leg will kick off on January 20, with Sydney hosting the first game.
Canberra will be the venue for the second T20I scheduled for January 23, while Adelaide will stage the third match on January 25. Then the four-day Test between both sides will take centre stage.
The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will host the only Test, which will be a day-night affair. This will be the second pink-ball women’s Test between Australia and England, with the last taking place in 2017, which ended in a draw.
The team with the most points will lay their hands on the Ashes trophy. Each limited-overs game carries two points, while the Test offers four points for a win. If the matches end with a tie, no result, or get washed out, then teams will split the points.
