West Indies T20 World Cup 2026 Schedule: Dates, Venues, Squad

The West Indies are back in India for another Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026. It’s the same country where they last lifted their trophy. Now that they are back, they would like to return home with their third title.

Here’s the West Indies’ T20 World Cup 2026 schedule, along with key details.

But before that…

How did the Windies perform in 2024?

The Windies played some good cricket in their backyard in the 2024 iteration. They remained unbeaten in the group stage, advancing to the Super Eight stage.

The Super Eights, however, didn’t really pan out well for them. They lost out to England and South Africa, while managing a sole win against the USA. That meant their semi-final dream came crashing down.

How did the Windies qualify for the 2026 edition?

The Super Eight appearance in 2024 helped the Windies gain direct qualification for the 2026 edition. There was no need to go through any qualifying stage.

When does the Windies play their first match?

The Caribbean team will start their campaign on the first day in Group C. They will face late-entrants Scotland in Kolkata at 3:00 PM.

Where will the Windies play their matches?

The West Indies will play at two of the most iconic venues – Mumbai and Kolkata. They have some fond memories at both venues.

The Windies defeated India in the semi-final in Mumbai and went on to lift the 2026 T20 World Cup in Kolkata.

Here are the venues for the West Indies’ matches:

  • Eden Gardens, Kolkata
  • Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai

What are the West Indies’ T20 World Cup 2026 fixtures?

After the first game, the Caribbean side will travel to Mumbai for their next two matches.

On their arrival, they will take on England on February 11. Their third match is against Nepal on February 15.

The Windies will be back in Kolkata for their last group-stage match against Italy on February 19.

What are the Windies’ key matches?

The Windies have some crucial group stage fixtures lined up ahead of them.

The Windies have lost against Scotland in the T20 World Cup back in 2022. So they would like to not repeat the same this time.

The Caribbean side, however, has some edge over England. The last time these two sides played in Mumbai in the 2016 edition, the Windies had an easy run chase.

And they need to be cautious against Nepal, against whom they have lost a bilateral series 1-2 not long ago.

Who could the Windies play in the Super Eight if they qualify?

The West Indies are one of the favourites to qualify for the Super Eight from Group C. And if they do make the cut, here’s how their fixtures could pan out.

The West Indies will be seeded X3 irrespective of where they finish in the top two in Group C:

What’s the Windies squad like?

The Windies have fielded a pretty similar squad to that of the 2024 edition. The major difference is Shai Hope leads this time around.

Meanwhile, Johnson Charles is set to play his fifth World Cup. Brandon King, Sherfane Rutherford, Shimron Hetmyer, and Rovman Powell stack up the batting order.

Quentin Sampson is a surprise call-up. He joins on the back of a solid batting performance in the CPL 2025.

Jason Holder, Romario Shepherd, and Roston Chase will provide reliability with their all-round abilities. Shamar Joseph, Jayden Seales, and Matthew Forde form the pace attack, while Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie bring their spin magic.

West Indies’ squad for the T20 World Cup 2026:
