Asia Cup 2023: Schedule, Dates, Venues, and Broadcast

The much anticipated Asia Cup 2023 schedule is out, with Sri Lanka and Pakistan co-hosting the tournament. Jay Shah, President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), announced the Asia Cup schedule on July 19 through Twitter.

The tournament is set to begin on August 30 as Pakistan will play Nepal in the opening match in Multan, Pakistan. While the final of the tournament will take place on September 17 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

A total of six teams will participate in the prestigious tournament. The six teams that will feature in the Asia Cup are — India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal.

Asia Cup 2023 Format

The Asia Cup 2023 will be played in One Day International (ODI) format. This tournament will be crucial for five teams (except Nepal) as they prepare for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

The six teams are split into two groups of three teams each. Group A comprises Pakistan, India, and Nepal, while Group B includes Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka.

The tournament will see 13 matches played over 3 weeks, including the Super 4 and Final. In the group stage, each team will play the other team once in a single round-robin format. Then the top 2 from each group will proceed to the Super 4 stage.

In the Super 4 stage, each team plays against each other once. And the top 2 teams from the Super 4 stage will qualify to play in the Asia Cup 2023 Final.

Asia Cup 2023 Broadcast and Live Stream

Start Sports will broadcast the tournament live on its TV channels in India. While the broadcaster will also live stream the matches live on Disney+ Hotstar for free in India.
