After a limited-overs series against Pakistan, the West Indies will gear up for the Carnival of Cricket. It’s the time for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), scheduled across August-September 2025.
Many Caribbean stars will dazzle in the T20 league. Overseas superstars will equally be in focus, dishing out impactful performances.
So, when does CPL 2025 start?
The 13th edition of the CPL will commence on Aug 14 (Aug 15, as per IST) in St Kitts. The opening fixture will see the home side, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, square off against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.
How many teams will feature in CPL 2025?
As has been the case, six teams will participate in the CPL 2025 season. The other four teams are Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Saint Lucia Kings, and Trinbago Knight Riders. Saint Lucia Kings are the defending champions.
What’s the format in CPL 2025?
Like other major T20 leagues, CPL 2025 will have a double round-robin phase in place. Teams will play two matches against one another on a home-and-away basis. In all, each team will play 10 games in the league stage, which runs till September 14.
Then the knockouts will start on September 16. Four teams will make up the knockout roster, with two heading into the final.
Overall, 34 matches will take place in the CPL 2025 season, including the four knockout games.
Where will the matches take place in CPL 2025?
A total of six venues will deck up for the CPL 2025 season. Each venue will host five league stage matches. Guyana will also play host to the knockout stage.
