A brand new T20 league is set to take place in a Caribbean country, involving the best teams from across the world. Guyana will host the inaugural Global Super League (GSL), sanctioned by Cricket West Indies and supported by the government of Guyana, in November-December 2024.
The Global Super League 2024 will kick off on November 26. Home team Guyana Amazon Warriors will take on Lahore Qalandars in the opening match.
Three more teams will be in contention to win the inaugural title apart from Warriors and Qalandars. The final of GSL T20 2024 will take place on December 7.
Guyana National Stadium, situated in Providence, will host all matches, including the final.
Global Super League 2024: Participating Teams
The inaugural edition of GSL T20 will see five teams in action, including home team Guyana Amazon Warriors, who were runners-up in the Caribbean Premier League 2024.
The GSL 2024 will also feature two-time Pakistan Super League winners Lahore Qalandars. Bangladesh Premier League’s Rangpur Riders, T20 Blast’s Hampshire Hawks, and Australia’s Victoria are the other three teams.
Global Super League 2024: Format
All five participating teams will take on each other in a single round-robin format once. That means each team will play four matches in the league stage. The top two teams with the most points will then battle it out in the summit clash.
