IPL 2026 has been hit by several injuries. Some overseas players have also made themselves partially available for the season.
This has put a spanner in every team’s preparation. Some franchises are set to miss the services of a few players entirely, while others have partially available players.
That said, here’s an updated list of injured and unavailable players in IPL 2026.
Chennai Super Kings
Nathan Ellis: CSK have suffered a massive blow as Ellis has been ruled out of the entire season. The Australian pacer aggravated a previous hamstring injury during the one-day cup final.
Delhi Capitals
Mitchell Starc: Another Australian who is set to miss a portion of IPL 2026. While Starc isn’t injured, Cricket Australia is trying to manage his workload in the lead-up to a busy international schedule. The left-arm pacer is expected to join the franchise midway through the season.
Gujarat Titans
The Titans are the only franchise not hit with any major injury concerns.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Harshit Rana: KKR are the worst-hit team among all in IPL 2026. And their biggest setback is Harshit Rana’s knee injury. While the Indian pacer has undergone surgery, he is yet to recover.
Akash Deep: KKR have lost another pacer to injury. Akash Deep will sit out the entire season as he hasn’t yet recovered from a lower-back stress injury.
Matheesha Pathirana: Further adding to KKR’s pace woes is Matheesha Pathirana’s partial absence. The Sri Lankan slingy pacer is recovering from a calf strain sustained during the T20 World Cup. Once fit, he is likely to join them in mid-April.
Lucknow Super Giants
Josh Inglis: The Australian wicketkeeper will miss the majority of the season for his wedding in April. Inglis had already made his availability clear before entering the auction.

Lockie Ferguson: The New Zealand pacer is set to be unavailable for the earlier part of the season. Although Ferguson is fit (for a change!), he wants to stay home with his family and a newborn baby before joining the franchise.
Rajasthan Royals
Sam Curran: RR will miss the services of the England all-rounder for the full season. Curran picked up a groin injury after the T20 World Cup.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Josh Hazlewood: The Australian pacer played a crucial part in RCB lifting the trophy last year. But this time, the franchise is likely to miss him for a few games. Hazlewood hasn’t yet recovered from hamstring and Achilles issues.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Jack Edwards: Edwards joins the long list of injured Australian players. SRH won’t have him for the entire season as he has suffered a foot injury.
Pat Cummins: SRH will be without their skipper for the start of the tournament. Pat Cummins is on the road to recovery from a lumbar stress issue. He is likely to link up in April. In his absence, Ishan Kishan will lead the team.
