With only a handful of slots up for grabs, the WPL 2027 auction was over within a few hours.
Teams signed most of the players on base prices, though a few attracted bidding battles.
That said, here’s a look at the most expensive players in the WPL 2027 auction. (Note: All figures in Indian rupee.)
5. Grace Harris | 30 lakh to UPW
Grace Harris took a pay cut to return to UP Warriorz for the WPL 2027. The Warriorz were the only team to raise their paddle for the Australian power-hitter.
She previously played for UPW in the first three seasons before an outing with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2026.
4. Jess Jonassen | 40 lakh to RCB
Jess Jonassen returns to the WPL after missing out last season. There are some concerns around her availability this season, though.
But despite that, RCB signed the experienced all-rounder for her base price. So Jonassen now moves from Delhi Capitals to RCB.
3. Gunalan Kamilini | 40 lakh to GG
After two seasons with Mumbai Indians (MI), G Kamilini moves to Gujarat Giants. They signed the young keeper for 40 lakh, her base price.
While this is a good deal, GG might miss her if India pick her for the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup 2027, set to clash with the WPL 2027.
2. Kiran Navgire | 75 lakh to DC
While many Indian players took a pay cut, Kiran Navgire clearly stood out as an exception.
She saw a two-way battle between MI and DC for her power-hitting services. The bid opened at 40 lakh before DC raised the winning paddle at 75 lakh.
Delhi might now pair Navgire with Shafali Varma for the opening slot. So expect some fireworks this time.
1. Sophie Molineux | 1.1 crore to UPW
Sophie Molineux was the most in-demand player in the WPL 2027 auction. She saw her salary jump by 267 per cent!
The reason was simple. She played a major role in RCB winning the league in 2025.
So RCB were eager to get her back, although they lost out to UPW, who spent 1.1 crore to secure Molineux.
