Namibia T20 World Cup 2026 Schedule: Dates, Venues, Squad

Namibia have geared up for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. This will be their fourth appearance in the global event.

So here’s all you need to know about Namibia’s itinerary in the T20 World Cup 2026.

But before that…

How did they fare in the last edition?

Well, Namibia had a below-average outing in the 2024 T20 World Cup. They crashed out of the group stage, winning just a single game. Their only win came against Oman, and that too via a Super Over.

How did Namibia qualify this time?

Since Namibia couldn’t go beyond the group stage, they had to return to the Africa regional qualifier final.

The Eagles remained unbeaten in the group stage, eventually making it to the semi-final and the final.

Although Namibia lost the final against Zimbabwe, their appearance in the summit clash alone sealed their berth in the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Okay. When does Namibia play their first T20 World Cup 2026 match?

Namibia will start their tournament on February 10. They will take on their Group A opponent, the Netherlands, starting at 11:00 AM IST in Delhi.

Where will Namibia play?

Namibia will play their group stage matches at three venues. Two of their games will be in Delhi, with one each in Chennai and Sri Lanka’s Colombo.

Here are the venues:

  • Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi
  • MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai
  • R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo

Tell me Namibia’s full T20 World Cup 2026 schedule…

Sure thing. The Eagles’ next match is against co-hosts India on February 12 in Delhi.

The Namibian side will then travel south to Chennai for their clash against the USA on February 15. They will fly into Colombo for their last group stage match against Pakistan on February 18.

Namibia’s T20 World Cup 2026 schedule (group stage):

February 18, 2026Namibia vs PakistanColombo (RPS)3:00 PM

What are Namibia’s key matches to watch for?

Namibia can play out tight matches against the Netherlands and the USA. They have played against these two sides quite frequently in recent years. So that experience might come in handy.

Who will Namibia face in the Super Eight if they qualify?

Assuming Namibia make it beyond the group stage, here’s how their Super Eight fixtures will look:

If Namibia finish in the top 2 in Group A, along with India, then they will be seeded Y3:

DateMatchVenueTime (IST)
February 21, 2026Y2 (New Zealand) vs Y3 (Namibia)Colombo (RPS)7:00 PM
February 24, 2026Y1 (England) vs Y3 (Namibia)Kandy7:00 PM
February 28, 2026Y3 (Namibia) vs Y4 (Sri Lanka)Kandy7:00 PM

If Namibia finish in the top 2 in Group A, but India don’t make it, while Pakistan do, then they will be seeded X1:

DateMatchVenueTime (IST)

February 26, 2026X1 (Namibia) vs X2 (Australia)Chennai7:00 PM

In case neither India nor Pakistan finish in the top 2:

  • Namibia will be seeded X1 if they finish at No. 1
  • Namibia will be seeded Y3 if they finish at No. 2

Alright. What does their squad look like?

Gerhard Erasmus will lead the Eagles for the fourth straight time in the mega event. He will captain a fairly young squad, with experienced players also in the mix.

Zane Green, Malan Kruger, and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton will handle the batting duties. Jan Frylinck and JJ Smit will, meanwhile, provide reliable all-round skills. Ruben Trumpelmann will lead the pace attack, while Bernard Scholtz will share the spin duties with captain Erasmus.

Here’s Namibia’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2026:

Gerhard Erasmus (c), Zane Green (wk), Bernard Scholtz, Ruben Trumpelmann, JJ Smit, Jan Frylinck, Louren Steenkamp, Malan Kruger, Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Jack Brassell, Ben Shikongo, JC Balt, Dylan Leicher, WP Myburgh, Max Heingo. Reserve: Alexander Volschenk
