Nepal T20 World Cup 2026 Schedule: Dates, Venues, Squad

Nepal are ready to appear in their consecutive Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026. The Rhinos will travel to India for the mega event.

So, here’s all you need to know about Nepal’s T20 World Cup 2026 schedule.

But before that…

How did Nepal perform in the 2024 edition?

Nepal didn’t have a great campaign in 2024. They returned home almost empty-handed, losing three of their four group-stage matches, while they earned one point for an abandoned game against Sri Lanka.

The highlight of Nepal’s outing was their tense match against South Africa. They came pretty close to beating South Africa, though they lost by a run (watch the thriller here)

How did Nepal qualify for the 2026 edition?

Nepal had to earn their spot once again. But thanks to their 2024 T20 World Cup appearance, they gained a direct spot in the nine-team Asia-EAP regional final.

In the group stage, the Rhinos beat Japan and Kuwait to advance to the Super Six stage. They extended their winning run in the Super Six, beating the other five opponents and topping the points table to book their tickets to India.

When does Nepal play their first match?

Nepal’s campaign will get underway on February 8, 2026. The emerging Asian side will face England at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium at 3:00 PM.

Where will Nepal play their matches?

Nepal will be stationed in Mumbai. They will play all four group-stage matches at the Wankhede Stadium.

What’s Nepal’s full T20 World Cup 2026 schedule like?

So after their first match, Nepal will take on debutant Italy on February 12. Their third fixture is against the West Indies on February 15, followed by their last match against Scotland on February 17.

What are Nepal’s key fixtures?

Nepal’s clash against the West Indies will be one to watch. The Rhinos defeated the West Indies 2-1 in a three-match T20I series in September 2025. So they have a mental edge over the Caribbean side.

Then their match against Scotland could turn out to be a close one. Both sides have played each other plenty of times in recent years.

Who could Nepal face in the Super Eight if they qualify?

Although England and the West Indies look like favourites, Nepal have an outside chance to qualify for the Super Eight round. And if they grab it, here are the opponents they could face based on a couple of scenarios.

If Nepal finish in the top two in Group C, along with England, they will be seeded X3:

And he will bank on Dipendra Singh Airee, Kushal Bhurtel, Aarif Sheikh, and Aasif Sheikh in the batting department. Meanwhile, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, and Gulshan Jha will assist their skipper with their all-round skills.

Sandeep Lamichhane, as always, will spearhead the spin department, along with Lalit Rajbanshi.
