The World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 Final will take place from June 11 onwards. Australia and South Africa will compete in the five-day event.
While the Test mace is up for grabs, the winner between them will pocket a huge sum. And the other seven participating teams will also take home a significant amount.
The prize money for this cycle has seen a massive jump from the previous two editions. So here’s the prize money breakdown for the WTC 2023-25 Final.
How much prize money will the WTC 2023-25 Final champions earn?
The winners of the WTC 2023-25 final will pocket US$3.6 million (approx. INR 30.81 crore). They will, of course, lift the Test Mace along with it. In the last two cycles, the winners earned US$ 1.6 million.
What about the runners-up?
While the loss will be hard to swallow, the runners-up will bag US$2.16 million (approx. INR 18.49 crore). Their share has also more than doubled from the previous US$800,000.
And how much will the other participants take home?
The other seven WTC participants will earn prize money according to their standings on the points table.
India, who finished third, will get US$ 1.44 million (INR 12.32 crore). New Zealand will take home US$1.2 million (INR 10.27 crore) for the No. 4 finish.
England (No. 5) will pocket US$960,000 (INR 8.21 crore), while Sri Lanka (No. 6) will bag US$840,000 (INR 7.19 crore).
The bottom three teams – Bangladesh, West Indies, and Pakistan – will earn US$720,000, US$600,000, and US$480,000, respectively.
