
The group stage of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is over. Now the focus shifts to the Super Eight round. The race to claim the title has narrowed down.
Apart from the title, teams will also aim to bag the hefty prize money. The ICC has increased the pot, with the winners forking out a big chunk.
So, what’s the total prize money for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026?
Overall, US$13.5 million is at stake. That’s approximately INR 122 crore.
In the 2024 edition, the ICC distributed US$11.25 million. So, the 10th edition has seen a 20 per cent increase in the prize money.
How much will the winners take?
The champions will, obviously, lift the trophy. But they will also take home a whopping US$3 million (approx. INR 27 crore). The winner’s prize money has gone up from US$2.45 million offered in 2024.
What about the runners-up?
Runners-up might be heartbroken after the final loss. But the good thing is they will receive US$1.6 million (approx. INR 14 crore). Their share has increased from US$1.28 million.
How much will the other teams earn?
The finalists aren’t the only ones who will earn the prize money. Other teams will also bag their share.
The two losing semi-finalists will receive US$790,000 each (approx. INR 7 crore). The teams that finish between fifth and 12th spot will earn US$380,000 each (approx. 3.4 crore).
And the bottom eight teams will take home US$ 250,000 each (approx. INR 2.2 crore).
On top of the prize money, teams can earn additional money for each win in the group stage and Super Eight round. Every win will add US$31,000 (approx. INR 28 lakh) to their kitty.
