Kohli bowed out of the shortest format as the second-highest run-scorer for India. The talismanic batter accumulated 4188 runs in 117 innings at an impressive average of 48.69 and a healthy strike rate of 137.04.

Most Fifty-Plus Scores for India in T20Is

Besides his staggering run tally, King Kohli notched up the most fifty-plus scores for India in T20Is. While donning the blue jersey, he scored 39 fifty-plus knocks, including a century and 38 half-centuries.

Most Runs and Fifties in T20 World Cup

Virat Kohli has been a pillar of strength for India at ICC events. And it’s true for the T20 World Cup as well. 

The top-order batter holds the record for scoring the most runs in T20 World Cup history. Kohli amassed 1292 runs in 33 innings at an average of 58.72 and a strike rate of 128.81.

To go along with that, he also scored the most fifties in the tournament. He notched up 15 half-centuries, which included some brilliant batting performances.

Most T20I Runs against Australia and in Australia

King Kohli loved batting against Australia, which is evident in his batting stats against them. 

He has scored the most T20I runs against Australia among the opponents he faced. The Delhi batter accumulated 794 runs in 22 innings at an average of 49.62 and a strike rate of 142.54, including 8 fifties.

Outside of India, Australia was his happy hunting ground among the overseas countries. Kohli scored 747 runs in 16 innings at an astounding average of 74.70 and a strike rate of 141.20, including 9 fifties.

Third-Most Successful Indian Captain in T20Is

Virat Kohli led Team India in 50 T20I matches between 2017 and 2021, winning 32 of them, including 2 Super Over wins. This makes him the third-most successful Indian captain in T20Is after Rohit Sharma (50) and MS Dhoni (42).

First Player to Win 15 POTM and 5 POTS Awards in T20Is

Virat Kohli became the first player to win 15 Player of the Match and 5 Player of the Series awards in T20I cricket. In his 14-year T20I career, he bagged 16 POTM and 7 POTS awards.
