T20 World Cup 2026: Who will India face in the Super Eights?

India are through to the Super Eights in the T20 World Cup 2026. Now they will play three more matches in the second round.

But who are India’s Super Eight opponents?

India qualified for the Super Eights from Group A. Now they are in Group 1 for the second round.

And who are the other teams in Group 1? South Africa, the West Indies, and Zimbabwe.

So, India will face these three teams once each in the Super Eights. India, along with South Africa and the West Indies, were already pre-seeded in the group, while Zimbabwe assumed Australia’s spot.

How were teams pre-seeded?

So, the ICC pre-seeded the top-ranked eight teams on the ICC rankings. This meant the teams knew their Super Eight groups beforehand, irrespective of where they finished in the group stage.

As per the pre-seedings, India are X1. Australia were supposed to play matches allotted to X2. But since they failed to qualify, Zimbabwe have taken their spot.

The other two seedings, X3 and X4, belong to the West Indies and South Africa, respectively.

So, what are India’s Super Eight fixtures in the T20 World Cup 2026?

India’s first Super Eight game will be the rematch of the 2024 final. They will face South Africa on February 22 in Ahmedabad.

Their next fixture is against Zimbabwe on February 26 in Chennai. And their last match is against the West Indies on March 1 in Kolkata. All of India’s matches start at 7:00 PM IST.
