On August 26, 2024, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the revamped schedule for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. The ninth edition of the Women’s T20 tournament will take place from October 3 to 20 in the UAE.
The premier women’s tournament will see 10 teams split across 2 groups in action across 18 days. There are a total of 23 games, with 20 group-stage matches and 3 knockout matches.
Bangladesh and Scotland will clash in the tournament opener on October 3 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.
Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: Teams and Groups
A total of 10 teams will participate in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Apart from the hosts Bangladesh, Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies will feature in the tournament.
All 10 teams are divided into 2 groups:
Group A: Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
Group B: Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, Scotland
The top 2 teams from each group will proceed to play in the semi-finals on October 17 and 18. The winners of the semi-finals will then take on each other in the summit clash on October 20 in Dubai.
Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: Venues
The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup will be staged across 2 venues in the UAE. Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai will host 12 games, including the first semi-final and final, while Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah will host 11 games, including the second semi-final.
