On June 20, 2024, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the much-anticipated schedule for Team India’s international home season for 2024-25.
The Indian Cricket Team will play a total of 16 international matches, including 5 Tests, 8 T20Is, and 3 ODIs.
The 2024-25 home season kicks off on September 19 with the first of the two Test matches against Bangladesh. Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium will host the first Test match, while Kanpur’s Green Park will host the second Test on September 27. This series is part of the WTC 2023-25 cycle.
After the Test series, India will take on Bangladesh in a 3-match T20I series, starting on October 6 in Gwalior. Delhi and Hyderabad will play host to the second and third T20Is on October 9 and 12.
India will then host New Zealand for an all-important 3-match Test series, which is India’s last home series in the current WTC cycle. The first Test match will start on October 16 at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Then both teams will move to neighbouring Maharashtra, where Pune will host the second Test on October 24, while the third match will take place in Mumbai on November 1.
England will tour India in January-February 2025 for a 5-match T20I and 3-match ODI series. The first T20I will be played in Kolkata on January 22, while the second will be staged in Chennai on January 25.
Both teams will then fly to Western India, landing in Rajkot for the third T20I on January 28. The fourth T20I will take place on January 31 in Pune, while the final T20I will take place in Mumbai on February 2.
The attention will then shift towards the 3-match ODI series as it will help teams prepare for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Nagpur’s VCA Stadium will host the first ODI on February 6.
The second ODI will be played on February 9 in Cuttack, while the home season will conclude with the third ODI on February 12 in Ahmedabad.
