As the summer reaches its peak in Australia, the Big Bash League (BBL) will return with a brand new season in December 2024. This will be the 14th edition of the T20 league, which will be a one-and-a-half-month affair.
The BBL 2024/25 will begin on December 15, 2024. Five-time champions Perth Scorchers will take on Melbourne Stars in the season opener.
The league will continue with the format introduced in the last season. There will be 44 matches in total, including the finals.
The eight BBL clubs will play 10 matches in the league stage while facing three teams twice and the other four once. The top four sides will enter the knockouts, with the final slated for January 27, 2025.
As the league stage moves towards the conclusion, BBL|14 will be at loggerheads with other T20 leagues like ILT20 2025, SA20 2025, and BPL 2025.
