List: Cricketers to Play 100+ Matches in Each Format

It’s not that often we get to see players bossing in all 3 formats of the game. Every format has its own intricacies, and a few players are good at adapting them.

One thing that pushes a cricketer to feature in all formats consistently is the level of talent they possess. Moreover, their top-notch fitness regime allows them to represent their team for a long time.

A handful of cricketers have worked their way out to play more than 100 games in each format. Here are the cricketers who have played 100+ matches in all formats.

Ross Taylor | New Zealand

Ross Taylor became the first-ever player to feature in 100+ matches in all 3 formats. He achieved the extraordinary feat in February 2020.

The Blackcaps player played his 100th ODI during the Cricket World Cup against Kenya on February 20, 2011. Taylor played his 100th T20I (2 Feb) and 100th Test match (21 Feb) 19 days apart in February 2020, making February a ‘landmark’ month of his career.

The right-hander retired from international cricket in 2022, with 112 Tests, 236 ODIs, and 102 T20Is.

Virat Kohli | India

Virat Kohli, a once-in-a-generation kind of player, made his mark with his brilliant batting performances for India. Kohli became only the second cricketer to play 100 or more matches in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.

The star Indian batter reached his 100th ODI match on June 11, 2013, against the West Indies in the Champions Trophy. Kohli wore his 100th Test cap on March 4, 2022, against Sri Lanka in Mohali. His 100th T20I was against Pakistan during the Asia Cup on August 28, 2022.

Virat Kohli is also one of the players who have achieved the No. 1 ICC rankings in all formats.
