Duleep Trophy 2024 Schedule: All You Need to Know

The 2024-25 Indian domestic cricket season will get underway with the Duleep Trophy 2024 starting on September 5. All eyes will be on the premier red-ball tournament as India’s Test regulars will be in action ahead of a busy WTC schedule.

The 61st edition of the Duleep Trophy will take place in Bengaluru and Anantapur. M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will host only one match in the first round, while Anantapur will host five matches across two venues in three rounds.

Rather than the zonal teams, this edition will see four teams picked by senior national selectors in the race to claim the coveted Duleep Trophy.

Duleep Trophy 2024: Format and Points System

Four teams — India A, India B, India C, and India D — will take on each other in a single round-robin format. The team with the most points after the third round will claim the Duleep Trophy.

Speaking of the points system, if a team wins by an innings or 10 wickets, they will get 7 points. For an outright win, teams will earn 6 points.

If a team couldn’t win a match outright but took the first innings lead, they will get 3 points. And if a team loses a match after taking the first innings lead, they will bag 1 point.
