England is all set to tour India for a 5-match Test series. The thrilling Test series, also known as the Anthony de Mello Trophy, will take place between January and March 2024.
The India vs England Test series is an important affair for both teams as they are in quest to grab the crucial WTC points. This is India’s first home series, which is part of their WTC 2023-25 schedule. While England will be playing their first away series of the WTC 2023-25 fixtures.
This will be the first assignment for the coach-captain duo of Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes on Indian soil. It will be an uphill task for them given the English side was thrashed last time by 3-1.
England’s tour of India will begin with the first Test match scheduled from January 25 in Hyderabad. The next match will also happen in southern India, in Visakhapatnam, from February 2.
Then the teams travel west to Rajkot for the third Test, which starts after a week’s break from February 15. The fourth Test match will take place in Ranchi from February 23.
And finally, the series will conclude with the fifth and final Test, which begins from March 7. The picturesque HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala will host the fifth match.

As usual, India is going with a spin-heavy bowling attack led by stalwart Ravi Ashwin. Keeper-batter Dhruv Jurel earned his first call-up to the Test squad for the first 2 matches. Experienced pacer Mohammed Shami misses owing to an injury. Moreover, India’s ace batter Virat Kohli pulled out of the first 2 Tests on personal grounds.

England’s spin attack comprises proficient Jack Leach and young prodigy Rehan Ahmed, along with 2 uncapped spinners, Tom Hartley and Shoaib Bashir. Fast bowler Gus Atkinson also earns a call-up to the squad based on his superb form in the County Championship.
