Team India had a roller coaster year in 2022, losing to New Zealand in T20I and ODI series before falling out of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup group stages.
Then they won the series in Sri Lanka and extended their winning streak by winning a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games.
From winning the Women’s Asia Cup to losing in the T20I series versus England and then defeating them 3-0 in the ODI series in their backyard to playing quality cricket versus Australia at home in front of massive crowds and losing 1-4, we have seen it all.
Indian Women’s cricket is on the rise, with the seeds of a huge cricketing revolution being sown. Let’s take a look at what 2023 has in store for them.
Bangladesh Women vs India Women (July 2023)
India will face Bangladesh in three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty-Twenty-Innings (T20Is) on Bangladeshi soil in July. The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur will host all six matches.
The T20 series will take place from July 9 to July 13, 2023. And the one-day series will take place from July 16 to July 22, 2023. India has a lopsided record against Bangladesh, having defeated them by 110 runs in the ODI World Cup and by 59 runs in the Asia Cup.
Asian Games 2023 (September 2023)

India Women vs England Women (December 2023)
In December, India will face England in a one-off test almost two years after three T20Is at home, and the series is likely to be a belter.
Meetings between these two teams are always high-voltage affairs, and expectations are high for this one as well. The last time the two sides met, India lost the T20I series but won the ODI series 3-0 on English soil.
India Women vs Australia Women (December 2023–January 2024)
To cap off what would have been a memorable year for India, a series against Australia with one test, three ODIs, and three T20Is at home in the last week of December would be a fitting way to end the year. With India having had a year to fine-tune and sharpen their skill set, we should expect some exciting competitions.
The Indian Women’s Cricket Team’s calendar for 2023 offers an exciting year of cricket. The squad will have multiple opportunities to exhibit their skills, learn from their experiences, and continue their progress as a strong cricketing force, from difficult away tours to exhilarating home contests. Let us all cheer for the Indian Women’s Cricket Team and wish them the best for the coming year!
