Top 7: Indian Players with Most ICC Trophies

Thousands of cricketers dream about playing for India once. But only a handful make the cut.

And even among them, only those with top-notch skills get a chance to feature in ICC tournaments. It is the pinnacle of the sport, and helping the team win these tournaments is on every player’s mind. Only a few players have been able to do this, with some doing it multiple times.

On that note, here are the seven Indian players who have been part of three or more ICC trophy wins.

7. Ravindra Jadeja: 3

Ravindra Jadeja has been a vital cog in the Indian team. He has played many handy knocks with the bat and bowled brilliant spells with the ball.

The all-rounder won his first ICC tournament in 2013 when India bagged the Champions Trophy. Jadeja played a key role back then with the ball to end up as the highest wicket-taker. He won the Golden Ball for his 12 wickets in five innings.

After more than a decade’s wait, the Saurashtra player added the T20 World Cup to his cabinet in 2024. He had an under-par tournament but bowed out of the T20I format with glory. And nine months later, Jadeja would go on to win the Champions Trophy with India.

6. Virender Sehwag: 3

If there was one batter who provided quick starts to India in the 2000s, then he was none other than Virender Sehwag. The fearless opener was in charge of tearing apart the opponent’s bowling attack.

And his aggressive approach saw India win three ICC titles in his days. The first of the triumphs came in 2002, when India had to share the Champions Trophy with Sri Lanka. Sehwag was fabulous in that edition, as he aggregated 271 runs across five innings.

The second one followed in 2007, as he was part of the T20 World Cup-winning squad. Although Sehwag didn’t feature in the final, he scored 133 runs in five innings.

And the last of his ICC title victories came in 2011. It was the ODI World Cup triumph at home, where Sehwag finished with 380 runs.

5. Harbhajan Singh: 3

Harbhajan Singh was part of the same victories as Sehwag. The former Indian spinner picked up six wickets in the 2002 Champions Trophy.

Then, in the inaugural T20 World Cup, Harbhajan returned with seven victims, while he finished with nine scalps in the 2011 ODI World Cup. Harbhajan was the backbone of India’s spin attack.

4. Yuvraj Singh: 3

Yuvraj Singh followed in the footsteps of Sehwag and Harbhajan. Like the two players, he also featured in the 2002, 2007, and 2011 ICC tournament wins.

Yuvraj’s vital 62 pushed India into the final of the 2002 Champions Trophy. Then, five years later, he lit up the 2007 T20 World Cup with his batting carnage.

And Yuvraj capped off the 2011 World Cup as the Player of the Tournament. He was the star performer for India in that campaign, with 362 runs and 15 wickets.

3. MS Dhoni: 3

Perhaps India’s greatest captain, MS Dhoni, also clinched three ICC trophies. And in all those victories, he was the captain.

Dhoni got the charge of the T20I team ahead of the 2007 T20 World Cup. And he immediately brought the result. A young squad led by him crossed the winning line in the final.

After the 1983 World Cup win, India were desperately looking to win the 50-over event. It was under Dhoni’s leadership the Men in Blue ended the drought in 2011, that too in front of the home crowd.

Two years later, he took the team through to yet another final. The Indian team went on to lift the Champions Trophy while Dhoni rounded off the ICC white-ball tournament set.

2. Rohit Sharma: 4

Rohit Sharma’s ICC tournament CV boasts of four titles. He first tasted success right at the start of his career. He was part of the Dhoni-led side that lifted the inaugural T20 World Cup.

Then, Sharma featured in another title win under Dhoni’s captaincy. He was crucial in India’s Champions Trophy triumph in 2013.

Sharma added two ICC trophies a decade later, this time him being a skipper. The Indian team cruised to their second T20 World Cup win in 2024. It was a dominant run under Sharma’s leadership.

A similar run was on repeat in the 2025 Champions Trophy. India clinched the second ICC title with Sharma at the helm.

1. Virat Kohli: 4

Virat Kohli is the other Indian player to win four ICC trophies. And it shouldn’t come as a surprise, given Kohli’s love affair with ICC tournaments.

He is the top run-scorer in all ICC events. And his consistent run-scoring has been crucial behind India finishing as champions.

Kohli helped fulfil his idol Sachin Tendulkar’s dream of winning the ODI World Cup in 2011. He amassed 282 runs in nine innings in his maiden ICC tourney.

Then, the top-order batter stepped up in the 2013 Champions Trophy final. His 43-run knock gave India enough runs on the board to help beat England.

But then, a long wait followed as India failed to cross the finish line on several occasions. It was in 2024 that the Indian team broke the chain, with Kohli being part of the T20 World Cup victory.

Alongside Sharma, he helped India reclaim the Champions Trophy. Kohli had an incredible run in the 2025 edition as he plundered 218 runs in five innings.
