ICC Reveals Prize Money for Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

In a historic move, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced equal prize money for the winners of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The prize money will be similar to that of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which took place in June 2024 in the West Indies and USA.

The 10 participating teams will share the prize money from the record pot of US$ 7.95 million. It’s a massive jump of 225 per cent from the 2023 edition, which had a pot of US$ 2.45 million.

Let’s look at the breakup of prize money for winners and other participating teams.

Prize Money for Winners and Runners-up in Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

The increase in overall prize money will see the winners and runners-up take a hefty cheque home.

Scheduled in the UAE, the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 winners will bag US$ 2.34 million (approx. INR 10 crore). It marks a rise of 134 per cent from the previous edition’s winning reward of US$ 1 million.

Likewise, runners-up will take home US$ 1.17 million (approx. INR 9.7 crore). Their share has increased from US$ 500,000.

Prize Money for Other Participating Teams

The other 2 semi-finalists, who fail to make the final, will receive US$ 675,000 each (approx. INR 5.65 crore). The losing semi-finalists earned US$ 210,000 in the previous iteration.

Teams that don’t qualify for the semi-finals will also enjoy increased prize money. The No. 3 and 4 teams from both groups will get US$ 270,000 (approx. INR 2.2 crore). And the teams that finish in the last spots in their groups will take US$ 135,000 (approx. INR 1.1 crore).

On top of this, every win in the group stage will result in teams earning US$ 31,154 (approx. 26 lakhs).
