South Africa vs India 2023-24 Complete Schedule and Venues

On July 14, 2023, the Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule of India’s tour of South Africa. The tour will begin on December 10, 2023, and span almost a month. 

Visitors India will face Hosts South Africa in an all-format series. The series, also known as the Freedom Series, comprises 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs, and 2 Test matches.

The hosts will start their World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle with the Test series against India. And India, on the other hand, will play their second Test series of the WTC cycle.

South Africa vs India 2023 Schedule and Venue

The series will start with a 3-match T20I series. The first T20I match will take place on December 10 in Durban. Later, the teams will move to Gqeberha to play the second T20I match on December 12. Further, the third and last T20I match will be played on December 14 in Johannesburg.

After the conclusion of the T20I series, Johannesburg will also host the first ODI match on December 17. Then both teams travel back to Gqeberha to play the second ODI match on December 19. The third and final ODI will take place on December 21 in Paarl.

Following the limited overs series, both teams will square off in the ultimate format of the game — Test cricket. The Test series, also known as the Gandhi-Mandela Trophy, is part of the WTC 2023-25 schedule. Both teams will look to perform well to earn the crucial WTC points.

The Test series consists of 2 matches, with the first match scheduled on the traditional Boxing Day. The first Test match will take place at Centurion between December 26 and December 30. Further, the second Test match will be played between January 3, 2024, and January 7, 2024, in Cape Town.
