
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) had an action-packed auction on November 27, 2026. A total of 73 spots were up for grabs in the WPL 2026 auction.
Sophie Devine was the first to bag a deal. Gujarat Giants secured the New Zealand veteran for INR 2 crore.
Deepti Sharma crossed Devine’s bidding amount within a few moments. UP Warriorz used the Right-to-Match (RTM) card to retain her 3.20 crore, making her the second most expensive buy in WPL auction history!
New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr (3 crore to MI) and India’s Shikha Pandey (2.40 crore to UPW) were the others to bag 2 crore-plus deals.
Shree Charani, Asha Sobhana, and Pooja Vastrakar were some of the Indian players to land big deals in the auction.

Shree Charani and Chinelle Henry headlined DC’s auction picks. They’ve got Laura Wolvaardt to pair up with Shafali Verma at the top.
DC further bolstered their batting lineup by getting South Africa’s Lizelle Lee. Sneh Rana and Australia’s Lucy Hamilton rounded up their all-round picks.

MI were hell-bent on getting Amelia Kerr back. And they did secure her at a whopping 3 crore.
The defending champions also got back Shabnim Ismail, Sajeevan Sajana, and Saika Ishaque. MI added a couple of overseas bowling options in Australia’s Nicola Carey and Milly Illingworth.

Australia’s Georgia Voll is likely to open along with captain Smriti Mandhana. Grace Harris and Nadine de Klerk will take care of the power-hitting along with Richa Ghosh.

UPW went with the biggest purse and most slots to fill in the auction. And they have built a solid squad with all the resources at their disposal
UPW didn’t hesitate to buy back Deepti Sharma at 3.20 crore. They’ve got a solid captaincy option in Meg Lanning, with Phoebe Litchfield likely to open along with her.
Shikha Pandey spearheads UP’s pace attack, while Sophie Ecclestone returns to handle the spin duties. Deandra Dottin, Kiran Navgire, and Chloe Tryon are some of the good hitters in their ranks.
