The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 started in St Kitts on August 14. The hosts, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SKNP), won a low-scoring affair against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons (ABF).
This marked Jason Holder’s first win as the skipper of the Patriots. Imad Wasim, on the other hand, faced his first defeat in his first full-time captaincy stint in the CPL.

Here are the captains of all teams in CPL 2025.
Antigua and Barbuda Falcons | Imad Wasim
As mentioned above, Imad Wasim is at the helm of the Falcons. Wasim comes on board with extensive captaincy experience.
He previously led Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for five seasons. The Kings won the 2020 edition under the all-rounder’s tutelage. The Falcons will also expect a similar result from Wasim this season.
Barbados Royals | Rovman Powell
Barbados Royals have persisted with Rovman Powell for another season. This is his third edition as the Royals captain in the CPL.
Thus far, Powell has had mixed results. He has led Barbados in 20 matches, with nine wins. Overall, Powell has 55 caps as skipper, with 23 victories in the CPL.
Guyana Amazon Warriors | Imran Tahir
Despite being 46, Imran Tahir is all set to lead Guyana Amazon Warriors in CPL 2025.
Plus, he is coming off a title win in the 2025 Global Super League (GSL). This is Guyana’s second T20 trophy victory under Tahir’s aegis after the CPL win in 2024.
Since his stint began in 2023, Guyana has won 18 of the 24 matches in the CPL.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots | Jason Holder
Ever since Dwayne Bravo left the Patriots after 2022, nothing seems to be going their way. They have had three captains since then.
And now Holder is the latest and fourth skipper. This appointment comes after a disastrous 2024 edition under Fletcher’s captaincy.
Holder comes with a rich captaincy experience. He was at the helm of the Royals in 43 matches across four CPL seasons, with 15 wins.
St Lucia Kings | David Wiese
St Lucia Kings will be without their title-winning skipper, Faf du Plessis. So they have replaced him with David Wiese.
The Namibian all-rounder is pretty much new to captaincy. While he has led teams on a couple of occasions, he is the most inexperienced among his CPL peers.
So it will be interesting to see how Wiese performs in his maiden full-time captaincy tenure.
Trinbago Knight Riders | Nicholas Pooran
Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) also have a captaincy change this season. Kieron Pollard has handed over the charge to Nicholas Pooran.
This will be Pooran’s second stint in the CPL. He led Guyana in the 2021 edition, taking them to the semi-final.
In all, Pooran has captained in 69 T20s, with 33 wins. He has, in fact, won two T20 leagues, both for MI franchises in the ILT20 2024 (MI Emirates) and MLC 2025 (MI New York).
