The Global T20 Canada is a Canadian professional Twenty20 cricket league. It brings international cricket players from all around the world together to participate in an exciting and fast-paced style of the game.

The league was founded in 2018 and has immediately acquired popularity among cricket fans worldwide. The league comprises six teams from various Canadian towns, each with a mix of international and domestic players.

Global T20 Canada provides a venue for both established and young cricketers to display their talents and excite spectators with exciting matches. The league’s goal is to develop cricket in Canada, attract a diverse audience, and contribute to the global expansion of the sport.

Format of the Global T20 Canada

After a three-year break, cricket fans in Canada can look forward to seeing thrilling matches in their own backyard featuring renowned cricket luminaries as Global T20 Canada returns for a record third edition.

The cricket extravaganza will return to Brampton, Ontario, this year with six franchises, including two newcomers.

The Toronto Nationals, Brampton Wolves, Montreal Tigers, Vancouver Knights, and two new entries this season – Surrey Jaguars and Mississauga Panthers – will compete in the flagship competition.

The competition will take place between July 20th and August 6th, with 25 matches scheduled over the course of 18 days.

The player draft for Canada’s much-anticipated T20 League was held, with star foreign players unveiled. Harbhajan Singh, Shoaib Malik, Chris Gayle, and Andre Russell, among others, have been named to the rosters for the forthcoming Global T20 Canada.

Each squad will consist of 16 players from Full and Associate Member Nations of the International Cricket Council. Six international players, including two marquee names, four players from Associate Nations, and six Canadians, will comprise these squads, ensuring a diverse and action-packed cricket festival. With Canada obtaining ODI status earlier this year, the Global T20 Canada tournament is an important part of the growth and marketing of cricket in Canada and North America.

The elite T20 League will allow Canadian cricketers to sharpen their talents while competing against some of the world’s best players.
