We are halfway through the IPL 2026 season. Now the league has entered its business end. And that means the playoffs are just around the corner.
So what’s the IPL 2026 playoffs schedule?
The BCCI confirmed the playoffs fixture on May 6, 2026. As usual, the playoffs include two qualifiers, one eliminator and the final.
Qualifier 1 will take place on May 26, followed by the Eliminator on May 27. Qualifier 2 is scheduled for May 29, with the final on May 31.
Which venues will host the IPL 2026 playoffs?
This year’s playoffs will take place at three venues instead of the two followed in previous seasons.
Dharamsala’s picturesque HPCA Stadium will host Qualifier 1. The Eliminator and the other Qualifier will take place at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.
Like last year, Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium will host the final this time as well.

Why Bengaluru won’t host IPL 2026 playoffs?
Since Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are the current title holders, two of the IPL 2026 playoff fixtures were supposed to be held in Bengaluru.
But those games will instead take place in Dharamsala and Ahmedabad, with the latter venue hosting the grand final.
The BCCI pointed to certain requirements that were out of its hands for the venue change.
The board hasn’t made any clear indications, but the venue change seems to have come from certain demands and restrictions put on the M Chinnaswamy Stadium’s operations.
Those restrictions, specifically, have been placed following last year’s stampede near the venue during RCB’s victory parade.
