
After a pretty light 2025-26 home schedule, South Africa have a packed one in the 2026-26 season. Notably, their home season starts earlier than usual.
The Proteas will start their home season in late September 2026. They will play 20 matches across formats, hosting Australia, Bangladesh, and England.
Here’s all you need to know about South Africa’s 2026-27 home schedule.
South Africa vs Australia | September-October 2026
South Africa’s first big challenge will be against Australia. They will host the Kangaroos for three ODIs and three Tests.
The series will start with ODIs, with the first match on September 24 in Durban.
Johannesburg will turn pink for the second ODI on September 27. This will be the Proteas men’s annual Pink ODI fixture. The last one–dayer will take place on September 30 in Potchefstroom.
Both teams will then return to Durban to kick off the Test leg, part of the current WTC. This will be the first Test series between both sides in South Africa since the infamous ‘Sandpapergate’ in 2018.
The first Test starts on October 9, followed by the second in Gqeberha from October 18 onwards. The series will conclude with the third Test starting from October 27 in Cape Town.

South Africa vs Bangladesh | November-December 2026
After a couple of weeks’ break, the Proteas will host Bangladesh. The Asian side will arrive for an all-format tour. The series itinerary includes two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is.
South Africa will begin the series with two Tests. The first of those five-day fixtures starts on November 15 in Johannesburg. Centurion will host the second Test from November 23 onwards.
The attention will then shift to the ODI leg, which starts on December 1 in East London. Gqeberha will stage the second one-dayer on December 4. And the last ODI will take place in Cape Town on December 7.
Both teams will then travel to Kimberley for the first T20I on December 10. The next two T20Is are on consecutive days, on December 12 in Benoni and December 13 in Centurion.

South Africa vs England | December 2026-January 2027
South Africa’s last opponent this season will be England. This was supposed to be an all-format series. But due to a cramped schedule, they have dropped three T20I games.
Now the series itinerary includes three Tests and as many ODIs. First up will be the Tests, with the first in Johannesburg starting December 17.
Centurion will then host the traditional Boxing Day contest starting December 26. Cape Town, meanwhile, will stage the New Year Test between December 3 and 7, 2027.
The ODI leg will then start on January 10 in Paarl. The second and third ODIs are on January 13 and 15 in Bloemfontein. Notably, the ODI leg will crash with the SA20 2027 season, which starts on January 9.
