The series will kick off with the ODI leg. India will take on the Kiwis in the first one-dayer in Vadodara on January 11, 2026, at 1:30 PM IST. Notably, this will be the first men’s ODI in Vadodara in 16 years.
How many matches are part of the series?
The ODI leg comprises three matches. There will be five T20Is after that. So, the series features eight games in total, spread over three weeks.
Which venues will host the matches?
Vadodara will share the hosting duties with Rajkot and Indore for the ODIs. Nagpur, Raipur, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and Thiruvananthapuram will line up for the T20Is.

What’s the complete schedule for the India vs New Zealand 2026 series?
So after the first ODI, India and New Zealand will travel to Rajkot for the second one-dayer on January 14. The third and final ODI is on January 18 in Indore.
The focus will then shift towards T20Is. Nagpur will host the first T20I on January 21, followed by the second on January 23 in Raipur.
The third T20I will take place on January 25 in Guwahati. Then both teams will move south, with the fourth 20-over game on January 28 in Vizag. The series will conclude on January 31 in Trivandrum.

What are the squads?
India revealed their T20I squad first. The selectors retained most of the squad that took on South Africa in December 2025. The only notable omissions are Shubman Gill and Jitesh Sharma. Ishan Kishan and Rinku Singh come in place of them. This same squad will feature in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Shubman Gill, meanwhile, returns to lead India in ODIs, and so does Shreyas Iyer as his deputy. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Tilak Varma couldn’t find a spot, though. The rest of the squad remains the same.
