Team India finished their WTC 2021-23 cycle as runner-up after losing the final against Australia at The Oval in London. And now they will begin their WTC 2023-25 cycle in July 2023.
India is all set to kick off their third WTC cycle by playing a 2-match Test series against the West Indies.

India’s Performance in WTC 21-23
The Indian team played 18 Tests in the previous WTC cycle over the last two years. The team registered 10 wins, 5 losses, and 3 draws. Out of six Test series, India won four, lost one, and drew one.
Talking about India’s performance at home, they defeated New Zealand by 1-0 (2), Sri Lanka by 2-0 (2), and Australia by 2-1 (4). While in the away series, India drew the Test series against England by 2-2 (5), lost against South Africa by 1-2 (3), and defeated Bangladesh by 2-0 (2).
After playing all six series, India reached the WTC finals consecutively by grabbing the second spot on the points table. But India ended up as the runner-up as they lost against Australia by a huge margin of 209 runs in the final.

India’s WTC 2023-25 Schedule
Team India will play six Test series in the WTC 2023-25 cycle over the next two years. The schedule includes three home series and three away series.
India will play against England, Bangladesh, and New Zealand at home, while they will face the West Indies, South Africa, and Australia on away tours.
Home Series
1. India vs England – Anthony De Mello Trophy
India will play its first home Test series against England between January and February 2024. Both teams will play a 5-match Test series in India.

2. India vs Bangladesh
India’s neighbour to the east, Bangladesh, will fly down to play a 2-match Test series in India. The series will take place between September and October 2024.

3. India vs New Zealand
The Indian team will play a 3-match Test series against the Kiwis. And the series will be played between October and November 2024.

Away Series
1. West Indies vs India
India will be starting its WTC 23-25 cycle with the West Indies Test series. The Indian team will play 2 Tests in the Caribbean Islands.

2. South Africa vs India – Freedom Trophy
The Indian team will fly to South Africa in late 2023. India will play a 2-match Test series against South Africa between December 2023 and January 2024.

3. Australia vs India – Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT)
India will play its last series of the WTC 2023-25 cycle in the Australian summer. India and Australia will compete in the 5-match BGT Test series between November 2024 and January 2025.
