Pakistan World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 Schedule

After the successful conclusion of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 cycle, the ICC has announced the schedule of the WTC 2023-25 cycle.

In this article, we’ll take a look at the schedule of Pakistan’s WTC 2023 to 2025 cycle. Pakistan will start their WTC cycle by travelling to Sri Lanka for a 2-match Test series.

Before we look at their schedule, let’s take a look at their performance in the previous WTC cycle.

Pakistan’s Performance in WTC 2021-23

Pakistan played a total of 14 Test matches throughout the championship. They managed to win only 4 Tests despite playing their home games in Pakistan after a long time. While they lost 6 Tests and managed to draw 4 Tests.

Out of the six Test series, Pakistan faced Australia, England, and New Zealand at home. They had a wonderful opportunity to defeat these mighty teams, but they let loose.

Pakistan lost to Australia by 0-1 (3), England by 0-3 (3), and managed to draw the series against the Kiwis by 0-0 (2). They couldn’t even win a single match at home!

All four of their wins came on away tours, as they defeated Bangladesh by 2-0 (2) and managed to draw the series against Sri Lanka by 1-1 (2) and the West Indies by 1-1 (2).

Their shambolic performance left them in the 7th spot on the WTC points table.

Pakistan WTC Schedule 2023-25

Like the previous WTC cycle, Pakistan will play six Test series in the WTC 2023-25 cycle. The schedule comprises 14 Test matches played over the next two years.

Pakistan will play three home series against the West Indies, Bangladesh, and England. While they will play Sri Lanka, Australia, and South Africa on away tours.

Home Series

1. Pakistan vs West Indies

Pakistan will play against the West Indies in their first home series in February and March 2024. The series features 2 Test matches.

2. Pakistan vs Bangladesh

Pakistan’s next home assignment will be against Bangladesh in August and September 2024. Both teams will play a 2-match Test series.

3. Pakistan vs England

After the Bangladesh series, Pakistan will square off against England in October 2024. This series includes 3 Test matches.

Away Series

1. Sri Lanka vs Pakistan

Pakistan will fly to Sri Lanka to play a 2-match Test series. The series will take place in July 2023.

2. Australia vs Pakistan

Pakistan will play their second away series in Australia. Both teams will play in a 3-match Test series in December 2023 and January 2024.

3. South Africa vs Pakistan

Pakistan’s last Test series of this WTC cycle will take place in South Africa. This series comprises 2 Tests scheduled between December 2024 and January 2025.
