The Sri Lankan cricket team is all set to take part in the 2023–25 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. The island team will play six Test series over the course of the tournament.
They will kick off their WTC cycle by playing against Pakistan at home in July 2023.

Sri Lanka’s Performance in WTC 2021-23
The Sri Lankan team played a total of 12 Tests across six series. And they managed to win 5 Tests, while they registered losses in 6 Tests and drew one Test.
Out of the six Test series, they played three against Australia, Pakistan, and the West Indies at home. Sri Lanka managed to win the series against the West Indies by 2-0 (2), while they were able to draw two series against Australia by 1-1 (2) and Pakistan by 1-1 (2).
In their away series, Sri Lanka won the series against Bangladesh by 1-0 (2), while they lost two series against India by 2-0 (2) and New Zealand by 2-0 (2).
During the course of this prestigious tournament, Sri Lanka was close to qualifying for the WTC final, but they couldn’t manage to do so. And in the end, they finished in 5th place with 44.44 percentile on the WTC points table.

Sri Lanka WTC schedule 2023-25
In the ICC WTC 2023-25 cycle, Sri Lanka will play six Test series, with each series featuring two matches.
The Sri Lankan team will play three home series against Pakistan, New Zealand, and Australia. While they will play three away series against Bangladesh, England, and South Africa.
Home Series
1. Sri Lanka vs Pakistan
Sri Lanka will play a 2-match Test series against Pakistan in July 2023. The first Test match starts on July 16, while the second Test match will take place between July 24 and July 28.

2. Sri Lanka vs New Zealand
Sri Lanka’s next home series is scheduled against New Zealand. Both teams will play a 2-match Test series in October and November 2024.

3. Sri Lanka vs Australia
Sri Lanka’s last home series will be against the defending champions, Australia. Both teams will square off in a 2-match Test series in January and February 2025.

Away Series
1. Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka will play their first away Test series in Bangladesh. They will play a 2-match Test series against Bangladesh in February and March 2024.

The Sri Lankan team will fly to England to play in a 2-match Test series. They will play against England in August and September 2024.
