South Africa is one of the most competitive sides in international cricket, with top-class players in the team.
The team has tasted great success in world cricket riding on the back of their players. To honour their hard work, Cricket South Africa (CSA) awards annual contracts to a select few players.
This article will list the South African cricketers with central contracts for the 2024-25 season.
South Africa Cricketers with Central Contracts
The CSA announced the 2024-25 central contracts on March 26, which will come into effect on May 1, 2024. A total of 18 players have earned contracts from the South African board.
There was a reduction from 20 players in the previous season to 18, as some big names have not been retained. Dean Elgar, who retired from international cricket, has been removed from the annual roster.
Similarly, Quinton de Kock, who has taken retirement from Tests and ODI, has been left out of the central contracts. The injury-prone fast bowlers Anrich Nortje, Sisanda Magala, and Wayne Parnell also fell out of contention.
On the other hand, Nandre Burger and Tony de Zorzi have earned their maiden national contracts from the board.
