Here’s all you need to know about the Vizzy Trophy 2026.
First of all, what’s the Vizzy Trophy?
As mentioned earlier, it’s an Inter-Zonal University tournament. Four zonal teams – North, East, West, and South – compete in this annual fixture.
The BCCI and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) co-organise this List A tournament. It is named after former Indian cricketer and the BCCI President Maharajkumar of Vizianagaram, who was also known as Vizzy.
Alright, when does the Vizzy Trophy 2026 start?
The tournament will begin on March 1, 2026, in Goa. North Zone will take on West Zone, while East Zone will square off against South Zone on the first day, starting at 9:00 AM.
What’s the format of the tournament?
The tournament follows a single round-robin format. So, each team plays the other three opponents once.
The top two teams in the league stage advance to the final, with the winner lifting the trophy. In all, seven matches will take place in the 2026 edition.
Which venues will host the matches?
The matches will take place across two venues in Goa. Porvorim will stage four matches, including the final, while Panaji will host three games.
