The T20 World Cup 2026 is just around the corner. And to prepare for the mega event, England will tour Sri Lanka in late January 2026.

When does the Sri Lanka vs England 2026 series start?

The series starts on January 22, 2026. Sri Lanka will take on the Englishmen in the first ODI, starting at 2:30 PM local time.

Alright. How many ODIs will be played? And what about T20Is?

In total, Sri Lanka and England will play three ODIs. A set of three T20Is will follow soon, which are crucial in the lead-up to the T20 World Cup.

Where will the matches happen?

Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium will host the ODI leg, while the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy will host the T20Is. 

These two venues will also host T20 World Cup games. England might play their Super Eight fixtures here. So, this series offers a crucial match time to get used to the conditions.

What’s the complete schedule for the Sri Lanka vs England 2026 series?

After the first ODI on January 22, the second and third will take place on January 24 and 27. All three one-dayers start at 2:30 PM. 

Both teams will then move to Kandy for the T20I leg. The first T20I is on January 30, with the second and third T20Is on February 1 and 3. The T20Is start at 7:00 PM.

What about the squads?

England announced their touring party, led by Harry Brook. Zak Crawley returns to the ODI setup, which also features Joe Root.

Crawley and Root are only part of the ODIs, with the rest of the players also on the T20I roster.

Adil Rashid, Rehan Ahmed, and Liam Dawson will handle the spin duties, while Luke Wood, Brydon Carse, Jamie Overton, and Sam Curran will form the pace attack.

Will Jacks and Jacob Bethell offer the all-round skills, while Phil Salt, Jos Buttler, and Ben Duckett will attack with the bat.
