Cricket’s shortest format is back to entertain fans. The Hong Kong Sixes will return for its 21st edition in November 2025.

So, when does the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 start?

The Hong Kong Sixes 2025 will kick off on November 7. Hosts Hong Kong will square off against Bangladesh in the tournament opener starting at 8:15 AM local time (5:45 AM IST).

How many teams will feature?

As many as 12 teams will participate in the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 season. Teams have been placed into four pools of three each.

Okay, what’s the format of the Hong Kong Sixes 2025?

First of all, it’s a six-over-a-side tournament. So each match will see both teams play six overs with six players in the side.

The tournament follows a single round-robin format, with teams facing their pool members once in the group stage. So each team will play two matches in the group stage.

The top two teams from each pool will enter the Cup quarter-finals. And the bottom teams from each pool will move into Bowl matches.

There will be six bowl matches, with teams featuring in three games. The top two teams in the Bowl stage will contest in the Bowl final.

The four quarter-final winners will advance to the Cup semi-finals, while the losers will contest in the Plate semi-finals. The winners of both finals will then square off in the Cup and Plate final.

Which venue will host the matches?

The entire Hong Kong Sixes 2025 season will take place at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Mong Kok.

So the tournament begins on November 7, 2025, with the group stage. Teams will feature in 12 group-stage matches, with 10 scheduled on the first day and the other two on the second day.

The four Bowl and Cup quarter-finals will follow on the second day, while the semi-finals and finals will take place on November 9.
