India A will gear up for one more series scheduled between late October and mid-November 2025. After a series victory against Australia A, India A will now take on South Africa A.

The ‘A’ series takes place just before South Africa’s senior men’s team arrives for an all-format tour in November. 

So, when and where does the India A vs South A 2025 series begin?

The India A vs South Africa A series will start on October 30, 2025. Both sides will square off in the first unofficial Test in Bengaluru starting at 9:00 AM IST.

Alright, how many matches will be part of the series?

The series involves five matches in total. There will be two unofficial Tests, played for four days each, and three unofficial ODIs.

Which venues will host the matches?

The India A vs South Africa A 20225 series is split across two venues. BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru will host the two red-ball games. The one-day matches will take place at Rajkot’s Niranjan Shah Stadium.

So after the first red-ball match, both teams will lock horns in the second match from November 6 onwards.

Then the action will shift to the west in Rajkot. It will host the first unofficial ODI on November 13, a day before South Africa’s tour of India 2025 starts.

The second 50-over match will take place on November 16, followed by the third on November 19. All unofficial ODIs will be day affairs starting at 9:00 AM IST.

Rishabh Pant will be back in whites after recovering from an injury suffered on the England tour. And he is set to lead India A in both red-ball matches.

Sai Sudharsan will be vice captain, while Devdutt Padikkal, Harsh Dubey, Tanush Kotian, Manav Suthar, and Khaleel Ahmed will be part of both games.

Rajat Patidar, N Jagadeesan, Anshul Kamboj, and Yash Thakur feature in the first red-ball match squad. Test regulars KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, and Akash Deep will replace them in the second game.

Tilak Varma will lead the side in 50-over games, with Ruturaj Gaikwad as his deputy. Abhishek Sharma, who has impressed in T20Is, features in the A squad, along with his Punjab teammate Prabhsimran Singh. The pace attack comprises Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, and Khaleel Ahmed.

Temba Bavuma is set to return to action with South Africa A. He will be part of the red-ball squad.

Marques Ackerman will captain both squads. Prenelan Subrayen and Zubayr Hamza will join the red-ball squad after Tests in Pakistan.

Codi Yusuf, who recently made his ODI debut, features in both squads. Kwena Maphaka, meanwhile, will play in the one-dayers on his return from a hamstring injury.
