The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is back with a new season. The ninth season of the state T20 league will get underway on June 5, 2025.
As many as eight teams will be in action in the month-long tournament. Last season’s champions, Dindigul Dragons, will be up against Lyka Kovai Kings in the tournament opener on June 5.
The league stage will see 28 games, while the four playoff matches will combine to a 32-match affair. Four venues across Tamil Nadu will host TNPL 2025 matches, with the playoffs scheduled at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul.
Teams will play seven games each in the league stage. This means teams will meet the other seven opponents once.
After the league stage, the top four teams will enter the knockouts. TNPL 2025 has an IPL-style playoff structure in place. The T20 league will conclude on July 6 with the final in Dindigul.
As has been the case, TNPL 2025 promises to be a blockbuster affair. The league will unearth some new talent while the experienced players go about their business.
TNPL 2025: Venues
As mentioned earlier, TNPL 2025 will take place across four venues. Coimbatore will stage eight games at the start, followed by nine matches in Salem. Then the action will move to Tirunelveli for seven games before the tournament concludes with nine matches in Dindigul.
