When does the India vs West Indies series 2026 start?
The series starts on September 27, 2026. India and the West Indies will square off in the first ODI in Thiruvananthapuram at 2:00 PM IST.
How many ODIs in total? And will both teams play T20Is?
The ODI series has three games. And yes, India and the West Indies will also play a five-match T20I series.
The ODIs, in particular, are important as both teams prepare for the 2027 Cricket World Cup (CWC). While India are through to the next edition, the West Indies will first play in the qualifier. (Check out the CWC qualification process here.)
Which venues will host the series?
The series will take place across eight venues in India. Trivandrum, Guwahati and New Chandigarh will host ODIs, while Lucknow, Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru will stage T20Is.

What’s the full schedule for the India vs West Indies series 2026?
After the series opener in Trivandrum, the action will move to Guwahati for the second ODI on September 30. New Chandigarh will host the third one-dayer on October 3.
Then the T20I leg will begin on October 6 in Lucknow. Ranchi will stage the second T20I on October 9, while the third T20I will take place in Indore on October 11.
The action then moves down south for the fourth and fifth T20Is. Hyderabad and Bengaluru will host the games on October 14 and 17, respectively.

What are the squads?
India have announced strong squads for ODIs and T20Is despite the series overlapping with the 2026 Asian Games.
Shubman Gill leads the ODI side as usual, with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the squad. Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal flank the top order.
Shreyas Iyer missed out due to Asian Games commitments, along with Jasprit Bumrah. In Bumrah’s absence, Mohammed Siraj will lead the pace attack. Auqib Nabi and Naman Dhir have earned their maiden call-ups.
Iyer, however, will captain the T20I side after returning from Japan. The squad is the same as the Asian Games one, with a few changes in Prince Yadav, Mayank Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav.
