ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026: Schedule, Venues, Squads & Broadcast Details

ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026: Schedule, Venues, Squads & Broadcast Details

After the inaugural edition last year, the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy returns for its second iteration. And this one is a bigger affair than the inaugural edition.

So here’s all you need to know about the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026.

But first, what exactly is the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026?

It’s a T20I tournament contested between emerging teams. The ICC launched the competition to provide exposure to emerging teams. And the tournament is part of a three-tier development pathway.

So last year, the top eight associate teams competed against each other. This time, though, the ICC has expanded the tournament to 10 teams, with five of them being full-member nations.

So which teams are participating in the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026?

The five full-member teams are those ranked outside the top six. And they are Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Ireland, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

The five associates are the Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Thailand and the UAE. Thailand are, in fact, the defending champions.

When does the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026 start?

The second edition of the tournament starts on November 12, 2026. Ireland will face Sri Lanka in the first match in Ajman at 9:00 AM local time (10:30 AM IST).

Papua New Guinea and Scotland will also be in action at the same time in the second fixture.

Alright, what’s the format like?

So teams are split into two groups of five sides each. Group A features Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Sri Lanka and the UAE. Group B has Bangladesh, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Thailand and Zimbabwe.

Teams will face their group opponents once in a single round-robin format. Then the top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six stage.

In the Super Six stage, teams will face the three opponents from the other group. That means Group A teams will play against Group B and vice versa.

Once the Super Six stage concludes, the top two teams will square off in the final.

Which venues will host the tournament?

Thailand was initially supposed to host the tournament. But due to unfavourable conditions, the ICC shifted the tournament to the UAE’s Ajman.

So the matches will now take place at the Karwan Sports Club Cricket Ground and Seven Districts Sports Club.

Okay, what’s the complete schedule for the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026?

So the group stage runs from November 12 to 18, with four matches each playing day. The Super Six stage then starts on November 20. The final is scheduled for November 25.
